Village Life
The village consisted mostly of terraces of one-storey houses.

| OBSERVATIONS | Terraces were closely packed together in order not to waste valuable productive land. This shot was taken in 1975 when newer housing of two or three stories was just beginning to appear. By the turn of the century very few single storey buildings remained, though the ground plan of the village had changed little. |
