| OBSERVATIONS | A hastily dug grave has been prepared on the hillside, and the coffin is lowered into it and the pit covered in again. A roughly carved stone might be stuck into the ground at the head of the grave, but often no marker was inserted because ideally this was meant to be only a temporary burial. |
