Sung Wong Toi Inscription Rock

The Chinese-style entrance of the Sung Wong Toi Park

The Sacred Hill, unfortunately, was largely leveled in 1943 during the Japanese occupation to make room for the extension of Kai Tak Airport. In 1950 the government again undertook to extend the airfield further, and the remaining portion of the Sacred Hill was removed. The boulder, on which the characters “Sung Wong Toi” were inscribed, was relocated to the Sung Wong Toi Park near the original site.
